Rolling Ice is a collage produced from video that captured a rolling chunk of ice in the waters off Diamond Beach in southern Iceland. Pixels sampled from video stills were stretched and repeated to create horizontal lines of color. The color patterns are printed and cut to resemble the shape of the ice as it rolled in the waves. The construction compresses a brief moment of time into a single image.
